Walter Peak Station (24,000 hectares) was founded in 1860 by the McKenzie family.
Today it is home to 20,000 sheep made up of cross breds and merinos and 800 cattle. There are multiple activities available for families including a 4wd farm tour, dog demonstrations, mustering, and numerous mountain biking and walking tracks for all levels of fitness.
It is farmed sustainably taking great care of the land for generations to come. James and Lucy Clouston are the Managers and they employ 3 full-time employees who all reside on the Station along with additional seasonal staff.
The Lodge at Walter Peak Station is positioned beautifully in some of New Zealand’s most spectacular high country. It is a unique property with a magnificent landscape surrounded by mountains and right on Lake Wakatipu.
The Lodge is nestled in amongst a private native garden with outstanding 360 degree views, it was built in 2006 with an alpine feel.
Lucy, James and their team take great delight in sharing the magic of Walter Peak with the guests of the Lodge. The more time you spend getting to know us in the high country, the more you’ll appreciate the unique setting and heritage of Walter Peak!
We look forward to welcoming you at The Lodge!
